The
Lansas
Vacuum Pumps are available with either a
Honda or a Briggs & Stratton engine. These industrial class engines
have high capacity fuel tanks and are equipped with low oil shut off
which prevents engine failure due to insufficient lubrication.
We use a Gast Vacuum Pump which is capable of pulling up to 40 CFM
at 00" Hg and 17 CFM at 15" Hg. This is a lubricated pump designed
to reduce maintenance requirements under harsh job site conditions.
A 2 H.P. electric motor or 5 H.P. Honda engine is available.
The
new LANSAS
Super-Vac™ vacuum generator is a lower cost alternative for manhole
vacuum testing. The Super-Vac™ will pull over 40 CFM @ 10 Hg of
vacuum delivering more than 50% more volume than others on the
market. Our design is virtually maintenance free with absolutely no
moving parts.
A vacuum test of precast manholes should be performed to determine
its resistance to the infiltration of water. The amount of vacuum
lost over a specified time period will determine if the manhole is
to be accepted. This test allows for greater control regarding the
integrity of manholes. Vacuum testing is significantly faster and
cheaper to perform than water testing.
Component
Specification: Pneumatic Disc Assembly
The 24" disc assembly is manufactured of
a cast aluminum disc with a lower flange for bladder retention. The
one-piece cast unit has no seams to insure leak-free integrity. The
disc assembly includes one 1/4" NPT (F) Gauge port and one 3/4" NPT
(F) Vacuum port. The 24" and 30" test heads are equipped with the
Lansas
View Port™
polycarbonate window which allows the
user to see into the manhole during testing.
A Disc Support is provided as a
means of positioning the disc at different levels in the manhole
chimney. A removable 3/4" "all thread" rod is mounted to the disc.
The rod extends up through the disc support and is attached using a
wing nut. The bladder is manufactured by using a combination of
natural rubber and nylon tire cord. The natural rubber will provide,
through a textured finish, a positive seal on manhole surface
irregularities. The nylon tire cord will add the necessary strength
to ensure years of trouble-free usage.
Component Specification:
Flat Plate Assembly
The flat plate assembly consists of
either a 38" or 44" diameter aluminum casting designed to withstand
continuous use at 15" Hg. It contains a 3/4" NPT (F) vacuum port as
well as a 1/4" NPT (F) gauge port. A 3/4" thick closed cell foam pad
is bonded to the plate to provide a positive leak proof seal. The
38" and 44" flat plates also include the same View Port™ window for
viewing the inside of the manhole while testing.
